Family Care Coordinator, Company Owner
Birth Doula, Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, Educator, Breastfeeding Counselor, Postpartum Placenta Specialist
With a first career as a teacher serving students and their families in Title I schools, Bethany’s focus shifted to a desire to be a part of family education during the most formative periods of time—pregnancy and early parenthood. After almost a decade of providing peer support for pregnancy and breastfeeding, she felt called to pursue her passions as a career and began working independently as a Certified Labor Doula with Childbirth International and earned accreditation as a Breastfeeding Counselor with Breastfeeding USA.
As her career as a birth professional grew, Bethany and her husband, Mark, knew that they needed to build greater sustainability for self, clients, colleagues, and the community. This was the spark of inspiration behind the establishment of Phoenix Family Birth as the first full-service doula agency in Arizona – to serve families with a higher level of excellence and to provide opportunities for doulas to work as part of a dynamic team.
With a commitment to professional development and education, Bethany added childbirth educator and newborn care instructor to her repertoire and dedicated herself to additional training with ProDoula as a certified Labor Doula and certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula. With her skills and experience, she is able to provide adaptable, confident, ongoing support beyond the birth day. Her warm and uplifting attitude, judgment free approach, and flexibility are what families value most when working with Bethany.
In addition to working in the company as a support services provider, Bethany serves as the Family Care Coordinator, communicating with families and ensuring they are matched with their perfect doula.
