Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, Placenta Specialist
After two babies, five professional birth worker (birth, postpartum and placenta encapsulation) trainings, and countless sleepless nights unconditionally supporting young moms in the Chicago area, Lani moved to Phoenix. She knew that she had to continue the same path and begin to build a similar community that she had in Chicago. It only took two weeks in Phoenix and she began to love and connect with women and young moms during their pregnancies, births and immediate postpartum period and has not stopped since that move in 2015.
Lani completed a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and has taken those practiced skills including empathy, validating feelings, seeing strengths, and helping to work through struggles into her doula career. She loves meeting women where they are at, supporting them without judgement and understands that there is no perfect way to birth or to parent. She is here to help build the foundation of parenting skills by versatility and vast experience during the labor and birth of your child and by creative, innovative skills to help with the transition into parenthood.
When walking into your hospital room or home Lani will immediately bring a smile to your face and make you feel like you are ready to take on the world! She loves the women she works with deeply, will provide the highest quality of services to both you and your support person(s) during your birth and postpartum period, and do all of this while helping you to feel confident and powerful in your new role as a laboring or new parent. She is authentic and connects with her clients quickly, helping them to feel stable, strong and able to take on this new, exciting yet challenging chapter in their lives!
